Queer History in Edmonton: The 1981 Pisces Bathhouse Raid

Local writer, director, and performer, Darrin Hagen, has done extensive research into the infamous police raid of the Pisces Health Spa, an Edmonton bathhouse that served the gay community, in 1981. Darrin joins us to share details about what happened that night, and how this event has continued to impact Edmonton’s LGBTQ2S+ community.

Darrin Hagen is an award-winning playwright, author and LGBTQ historian. He has created many plays, stories and articles about our queer history, including Witch Hunt at the Strand, The Empress & The Prime Minister, and The Edmonton Queen: The Final Voyage. He also created the Queer History Bus Tour which ran for over a decade.
